TCM and acupuncture treatment process

At the first visit, we carry out a pulse and tongue diagnosis and look at the overall appearance. In addition, specific questions are asked in an initial consultation (anamnesis) so that a diagnosis according to TCM can be made. We will take enough time for you in this session. In order for an acupuncture treatment to take place, the first session lasts 75 to 90 minutes. In addition to acupuncture, the treatment plan may also include medicinal mushroom, life style recommendations and tuina massage.
Follow-up sessions typically last 60 minutes.

Costs

Questions about acupuncture

What diseases does acupuncture help with?

Acupuncture can be used for a huge range of illnesses. This ranges from simple colds to tension, strains, etc. to chronic conditions such as headaches, migraines, digestive problems, respiratory diseases, menstrual problems, etc. Acupuncture is particularly suitable for pain of any kind and for psychological symptoms such as nervousness, insomnia, restlessness, anxiery and depression. I am happy to inform you about specific possible applications.

Who is acupuncture suitable for?

There are no age restrictions for using acupuncture. Our youngest patient was a few weeks old, the oldest was over 80 years old. Babies and children in particular often respond very quickly and well to acupuncture, so only a few sessions are necessary.

Is acupuncture painful?

Normally, the insertion of the needle into the skin is hardly or not noticeable. However, it depends on the acupuncture point, the energy flow and the client's sense of pain. The needles are very thin and not comparable to syringe needles. We are happy to offer alternatives such as acupressure if someone is uncomfortable with needles.

How often do I have to come for treatment?

Normally once a week, twice a week is recommended for severe symptoms and acute cases. If the symptoms improve or it's about prevention, 1 to 2 times per month is usually enough.

When can I see results?

This varies greatly from case to case. Often after 3-4 treatments a change in symptoms becomes apparent, so that one can assess whether the chosen path is the right one. Acute complaints often improve noticeably after just one treatment, while chronic complaints require significantly more sessions.

How can I support the therapy?

It's best to allow enough time, avoid stress before and after and drink enough after the treatment. Above all, a proper diet is helpful. I happily advice you on diet according to Chinese medicine.

Hormone counseling process

If you are not already a patient in my practice, an initial conversation will take place by telephone or in clinic. There we will record your symptoms and explain how to proceed. You then carry out the hair mineral analysis. Based on the results and your symptoms, you will be handed out an evaluation with a nutrient table tailored to your needs, including dosages of minerals and vitamins as well as a food plan. You are free to get the supplements wherever you want and we are happy to assist in where and what to order. If necessary, I will be happy to explain the evaluation and recommendations to you by telephone or in clinic. Consultation should then take place every 8 weeks or if wished sooner.

Questions about hormone consultation and hair mineral analysis

What do hormones have to do with a hair tissure mineral analysis?

Hormones and their balance ultimately have to do with energy at the cellular level and with the adrenal glands. If there are too few micronutrients there, energy production does not work well, the adrenal glands take over and cortisol and adrenaline are released. Other hormones are reduced (e.g. thyroid hormones progesterone in women, testosterone in men). This special form of hair mineral analysis shows nutrient imbalances, especially the relationships between them, and conclusions are drawn about the hormonal situation in the body and the metabolic type.

Why hair test and not saliva or blood test?

A blood or saliva test only shows a snapshot, while the hair reflects the metabolic state of the last few months. The blood is also buffered and kept stable, so that deficiencies appear later. If estrogen dominance is suspected, for example, a saliva test can still be ordered or, in the case of adrenal fatigue, a cortisol profile in saliva.

What costs will I have to pay?

An initial orientation discussion about the options is free of charge. The anamnesis will take around 30min and is charged. The hair mineral analysis costs EUR 150.-. You will be charged one hour for our evaluation. Further consultations such as explanations / progress assessments as required.

Why can't it be done without nutrients?

Various reasons, particularly over-fertilization, depletion of the soils, industrial agriculture and environmental influences, have resulted in our food containing far fewer nutrients than it did 100 years ago. In addition, a variety of harmful influences in our everyday lives lead to further nutrient deficiencies. Unfortunately, analyses such as the hair mineral analysis confirm that most people suffer from nutrient deficiencies, which then lead to hormonal imbalances. Taking dietary supplements in a controlled manner is therefore a safe and easy way to counteract this.

Can I do any hair mineral analysis?

Unfortunately no. We work with the analysis of the American laboratory Trace Elements, which includes findings from Dr. Eck evaluates the ratios of minerals and connections with hormones. The costs are still cheaper than comparable tests domestically. More information about Dr. Eck and his findings here (English).

What happens next?

You take the recommended nutrients regularly and ideally implement the life style tips. I am available to you by phone for advice or in the practice with our hormone-supporting acupuncture. Ideally, a test will be carried out after 4-6 months to see how the nutrient and metabolic situation has changed and what adjustments should be made to the intake plan.

How can I support the therapy?

By adhering to the intake and lifestyle recommendations. In addition following the recommended adrenal diet is crucial for success.
